Seller Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026 · Last updated: October 22, 2026

The short version

  • List only comics you own and have in hand. Describe them accurately, disclose grades and restoration, and photograph the actual item.
  • Ship within 5 days and add tracking, or the order auto-cancels and the buyer is refunded.
  • Package slabs and raw books properly. We recommend insurance over $100 and signature over $500.
  • Complete Stripe onboarding to get paid. You are responsible for taxes on your income.

Seller agreement

This Seller Policy is part of the Slabsta Terms of Service. By listing an item, you agree to it, to the Terms, and to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. You are the seller of record for your items; Slabsta is the venue.

Stripe onboarding and payouts

Before you can receive payouts you must complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding (identity, bank account and tax information). Stripe performs identity verification (KYC). When an order completes (buyer confirms, or 2 days after delivery with no open claim), we transfer 100% of the item price plus the shipping charge to your Stripe account; Stripe pays out to your bank on its schedule. We may hold or reverse transfers for open claims, chargebacks, suspected fraud or policy violations.

Grading disclosure

Photos

Photos must be of the actual item you are selling, taken by you. Include at least the front cover; for slabs include the full label and certification number; for raw books show the back and any defects. Stock images, catalog images or photos of a different copy are not allowed (except as a secondary, clearly labelled reference image).

Shipping standards

Taxes

You are responsible for reporting and paying any income tax on your sales. Stripe may issue you a Form 1099-K and report payouts to the IRS as required by law. Where Slabsta is required to collect and remit sales tax as a marketplace facilitator, we will do so for marketplace sales; you remain responsible for any other tax obligations.

Prohibited listings

You may not list anything in our Prohibited and Restricted Items policy, including non-comic items, counterfeits, reproductions sold as originals, tampered or resealed slabs, stolen goods and bootlegs. Do not ask buyers to pay outside Slabsta.

Cancellations and returns

If you cannot fulfill an order, cancel promptly; the buyer is refunded in full. You must accept returns and issue refunds when a Buyer Protection claim is decided against you; return postage is your responsibility when you are at fault.

Consequences

Depending on severity and history, violations may result in listing removal, order cancellation, loss of payouts tied to the violation, recovery of refunds from future payouts, limits on selling, suspension or permanent removal, and reporting to law enforcement or grading companies.
